Summary: |
In 2008, the Norwegian Board of Technology, an independent body, recommended reporting of nanotechnology use by Norwegian businesses. The Norwegian Pollution Control Authority (NPCA) has created an initiative for businesses to voluntarily report nanotechnology use to the Norwegian Product Register. This initiative is intended to supplement REACH by focusing on the real-life marketing and usage of chemical products. The Board supports a mandatory reporting scheme as soon as it is feasible, which will require more clearly defining the definition of a nanomaterial. |
