India's Nano Mission Council has announced the future creation of a Nanotechnology Regulatory Board to regulate nanotechnology products for safety. The Nano Mission Council, established in May 2007, promotes basic research and international collaboration for the purpose of encouraging nanotechnology development in India. As part of the Council's mission, a three-day international conference on nanotechnology science and technology was held beginning on February 18, where the Council announced its intent to form the Regulatory Board "probably next month." Other topics at the conference included discussions on novel synthetic materials, fabrication and devices, and hybrids. |
