Summary: |
After the passage of a nanotechnology ordinance for Berkeley, California, the Cambridge Public Health Department reviewed at the City Managers request the possibility of a similar ordinance in the city of Cambridge, Massachusetts. A Cambridge Nanomaterials Advisory Committee was convened. This report contains the recommendations of the Committee. Because of the limited health data and standards currently available for nanomaterials, the Committee recommended against the enacting of a city ordinance. However, its recommendations included the creation of an inventory for nanomaterial facilities, the sponsoring of public outreach events, and biannual reporting to the City Council as regulations and data develop. |
